From Christmas Workshop 2012 - 昨年のクリスマス教室より（クリスマス＝ドアリース編）

今年のクリスマス教室も開催が近づいてきました。前回に引き続き、昨年のクリスマス教室から、クリスマスドアリースの作品をご紹介させていただきます。
Here are some designs created at Christmas Special Workshops from last year.

こちらは恵美さんによるクリスマス＝ドアリースです。まず目を止めるのが、ドアリースの中から湧き出て来たような柳の枝の動き！選ばれた飾りも全体的に色のトーンを抑えめにされて、クールで静かなクリスマスを演出されていますね。
This is Emi's Christmas Door Wreath. It was this design feature which would easily please your eyes: Willow branches just as if they were its structure behind those foliage. With their great movement along the design, Emi has chosen muted decorations to enhance its cool and sophisticated design. Christmas for Grown-Ups, then?

こちらのドアリースは、智子さんによるデザインのものです。クリスマスには欠かせない常緑樹ですが、彼女の作品ではその美しさがとてもよく引き出されていますね。ベース作りをとても丁寧に（とても大変な作業なんです！）進められているからでしょうか、美しい形での完成となりましたね。
This Door Wreath was designed by Tomoko. As you would imagine, Ever-Green foliage is deeply associated with Christmas season, and Tomoko succeeded in showing off its beauty in colour, shades, texture and shape. Her hard work was well paid off - look at this design! A beautifully shaped design has arrived.

嘉子さんの手から創り出されたデザインがこちらです。ご自宅のドアにぴったりのデザインです。このように、自分の飾りたい場所のためにお創りいただけると、本当にピタッと決まります。わざと飛び出させた枝にパールを垂らす事で視線を長く移動させ、ドア全体のデコレーションの完成です。ちょっと妖しい雰囲気のある作品、カッコいいですね。
Yoshiko has created this design - wonderfully haute couture for her own front door. Obviously, Yoshiko had had a vision of how it would be displayed - and what a success! The additional twig which was holding a string of pearls was a cool feature - this is emphasised by the design of this door. A cool design infused with a bit of mysterious air...

こちらは葉子さんによる作品です。どっしりとした重厚感が、背景となっている教会の柱とぴったり。時間を掛けて丁寧に組まれたベースの葉ものが、とても美しく映えていますね。デコレーションの配置による“たわわ”な感じも、クリスマスの華やかさを感じさせてくれるデザインです。
This is Yoko's Door Wreath. With a backdrop of really heavy wide church pillar, Yoko's design was showing off its grandness effortlessly. Working and checking consistently on creating the right shape and profile of her Door Wreath base, the result was evident here. Richness of the festive season was well translated in to this design by its 'FULLNESS'. Superb.

こちらは敦子さんによる作品です。実は敦子さんには一昨年もご参加いただいます。その時と比べると、ベースの形が確実に安定していますね。デコレーションの配置も大きな変化が現れ、出来上がりがとても厚みのある立体的な作品となっています。これは、お客様の目を奪います！敦子さんの作品も、ドアにぴったりと決まっています。
This is Atsuko's design from last year. In fact, Atsuko did join the class the year before, too, to make her own Christ,as Door Wreath. It was evident that her craftsman skill was vastly improved this time - a beautifully created shape and profile of the base were clear evidence. Also, the way Atsuko decorated her design really enhanced its richness and depth - no wonder it wowed everyone who saw it. No need to mention that the design was a perfect match to her front door, too.

はなえさんによる作品がこちらです。クリスマスを飾る常緑樹。その緑が美しく映える、リッチで重厚なベースが完成しています。はなえさんはデコレーションをちりばめるのではなく、クラスター（グルーピング）にまとめられての展開です。選ばれた色目も、赤からオレンジ、暖かめのゴールドにされる事で、ベース部分との対照を更に強調。お部屋の中が、更に一段と（２段も３段も？）華やぎますね。
This is Hanae's Door Wreath design. Its base was patiently assembled with rich combination of variety of Ever-Green here. On this rich and well-made base, Hanae has arranged decorations in grouping manner, so that its visual impact would be clearer and bold. A clever choice of colour scheme, too: Green with rich red, orange and warm gold. A great addition for any room. 
 

明日香さんによる作品がこちらです。リボンをどのようにたなびかせるか、までしっかりと考えての作品作成となりました。触れてみたくなるような、葉の質感を活かしたドアリース。大きな作品ですが、雲のような見た目の柔らかさも兼ね備えています。（実際は、どっしりとしています）若々しさに満ちた、華やかな作品ですね。
This is Asuka's design. You never be able to guess how many times Asuka did try and see how this bow would look on her design during the workshop: and it was interesting to see how its look did change as Asuka changed bow's shape... Anyway, a visually inviting design with gorgeous visual texture. It is full of radiant, youthful energy coming out of it.

今年も開催予定のクリスマス教室。一日教室を開催させて頂く度、それはそれは素敵な作品が生まれています。昨年のクリスマス教室から、アドベント＝キャンドルアレンジと、テーブルキャンドルアレンジの作品をご紹介させていただきます。
Here are some designs created at Christmas Special Workshops from last year.

こちらは貴恵さんによるデザインです。自然素材をメインに選ばれた作品。アイビーの実が季節感と華やかさをしっかりと演出しています。アドベント期間（4週間）の毎日曜日、火を灯すロウソク一本づつ増やしていきクリスマスの到来を待つ、という意味を持つアレンジです。あまり見かけられないかも分かりませんが、とても伝統的なアレンジ。細かなところまで見入ってしまう、とても立体的な凝った作品となっていますね。

Kie has created this Advent Candle design. Natural material was her predominant choice here - especially Ivy berries were the signs of season! Each week on  Sunday through Advent, an additional candle is lit - and wait for Christmas to come. Yes, it is not that far off now... Kie's design was very intricate and eye-catching one, indeed!

こちらの作品は友恵さんによるテーブルキャンドルアレンジです。ドイツからやって来たという人形とともに、クリスマスを華やかに演出されていますね。落ち着いた色目をもつ常緑樹（なぜ常緑樹なのか？この辺はクラスにてお話しさせて頂きますね）をたっぷりとお使いになり、重厚で落ち着きのある作品となっています。

Tomoe has designed this Table Candle Arrangement. This doll standing next to the arrangement apparently came all the way from Germany - what a great combination! Those muted colour ever green really made this design grand and luxurious. 

こちらの作品は桂子さんによるもの。華やかさがアレンジの中から広がり出してくるような、美しい作品。暖かな色でまとめられ、ロウソクに火の灯された時の姿も是非見てみたかった！ところで。。。あれ、ロウソクが他の作品と違う。。。。そうなんです、クラスではロウソクを２種類ご用意させて頂いています。（もちろん、両方ともお持ちかえりいただけます）クリスマスまでの期間に灯して頂くロウソクを１組、クリスマスの当日にお使いいただける１組です。今年も、昨年とはちょっと違うロウソクを準備してお待ちしています。

Keiko has made this Table Candle Arrangement. The beauty of this design is as if it were bursting with energy from within. Its warm colour scheme was so beautiful, that I was so keen to see how it looked when all the candles were lit up. Then, did you notice, this design has a different set of candles...Yes! You will have 2 sets of different type of candles- of course, you will take both sets back home with you. 1 set for leading up to Christmas, then a new set for Christmas Day. We sourced different style candles from last year - so, why don't you come and see them?

こちらの作品ははなえさんによるもの。リンゴの姿をしたキャンドルも、堂々と落ち着いてアレンジされています。彼女らしい個性が見えるのが、左側に添えられたアイビーの枝。まとめすぎる事なく、デザインの中に動きを持ち込むあたりに、彼女のこだわりを感じます。デザイン性の高い個性的な作品に仕上がっています。葉の組み合わせも美しくまとめられ、高級感が漂っていますね。

Hanae has made this design. Those Apple-shaped candles on the design were well positioned. Although this was a traditional design, Hanae has decided to put her own stamp on it - by bringing in an Ivy twig to her design. A quiet design with a twist, literally! A rich combination of different shades of ever-green was also its winning point - so gorgeous!

クリスマス教室へのお誘い Fancy making Your OWN Christmas decoration?

ハロウィーンを過ぎるころから、街灯の明かりがぐっと暖かく感じられます。なんて言ってみても、実はそれだけ厚着になってるだけなのですが。。。こうして、また新しい季節の到来。クリスマスなんてまだまだ。。。と思っていたのに、花市場の店頭には、クリスマスを彩る葉、枝、デコレーションが並んでいます。 
Once we go through Halloween, the streets starts filling up with beautiful leaves, and suddenly the street lamps look like they are giving out some warmth to the town... although, I know perfectly well that it is because I am JUST wearing some extra layers. Yes, a NEW SEASON is here in London. New Covent Garden Market is now fully equipped with some gorgeous foliage, twigs, glass and Christmas decoration.

今年も昨年同様、クリスマスリースやキャンドルアレンジメントの制作を体験できる教室を開催させていただきます！これまで作ってみたかったけど、なかなか機会がなかった方には是非参加していただきたい一日教室。自分だけのクリスマスリースやキャンドルアレンジを、自分の手で作ってみませんか？今年も、アドヴェントに向けたキャンドルアレンジを創る一日教室から、クリスマス教室のシーズンをスタートさせていただく予定です。

シュウ富岡さんによる写真講座 - Photography classes by Shu Tomioka

６月と言えば、もう初夏、のはず。

でも、窓の外はいまだその気配を感じられず。。。そんな曇り空の下、太陽のように輝いてくれるマリーゴールドは、季節をしっかりと伝えてくれています。

We are now in the middle of June, which is supposed to be the beginning of SUMMER... however, the reality is far from it. Well, at least, these cheerfully bright Marigolds are reminding me of the season.

先日からご案内させていただいている、シュウ富岡さんによる写真教室。第二回の開催が決定いたしました。このような方から直接指導を受けることが出来るというのは、滅多にない機会だと思います。写真にご興味をお持ちの方だけでなく、新しい事を始めて見ようとお考えの方にも、ぴったりの講座になると思います。

The professional photographer, Shu Tomioka, is now running a photography classes in Hampstead - I took the previous lesson, and it was full of new discovery. Unfortynately, the class is currently conducted only in Japanese, however if you are interested in taking his lesson in the future, please contact him via e-mail address provided below.

このページの１枚目と２枚目の写真、同じものなのですが、シュウさんの講座で教えていただいた事を参考にちょっと調整。こうしたテクニックを、たっぷりと伝えてくれる、本当に贅沢な講座です。
Thanks to Shu's lesson, I can edit photos I took now - the 1st and 2nd pictures here are the same - the 2nd one was tweeked a little bit. Do you think it is better? I hope so...

Shu Tomioka, The Photographer - 写真の富岡シュウさん、登場！

アドヴェントも２週目を迎え、クリスマスに向けた準備も着々と進んでいるロンドン。LivingSeasonsでも、一日体験教室の真っただ中です。おいで頂いた方々が、毎日素敵なデザインを紡ぎ出しています。

と、そんな中、写真の仕事で幅広くかつ深く活躍されていらっしゃる富岡秀次さん（本当に、すごい人なんです）から
"今度、教室を見に行っても良いですか？”、とのご連絡。

アレンジを一緒に作っていただけるのだろうかと、とても楽しみにしていたのですが,
足を運んでいただいたほんとの理由は、彼のブログ。

ロンドンで習い事（中）。洋風がお好き。　のページで、イギリスでご活躍中の方々のなかに紛れ込んで、取り上げていただいています。

おいで頂いた日はクリスマス＝リースの一日。参加いただいた方みんな、もみの木の脂なんかで手を真っ黒にして熱心に作業されていたのですが、みんなのその姿を、シュウさん（と呼ばせていただいています）がそっとカメラですくいとっていくのです。一人一人に声をかけながら、まるで心の中をあるものを撮影されているようでした。

シュウさんが撮っていたら、このフロックスも、もっとずっと綺麗に写してもらったのに。。。

ロンドンが好きで、根を張って　"住んでいる”　視点で綴られたブログは、飄々とした文体の中にも、繊細さが滲みでています。ご本人も、写真と同様とっても素敵な方なんです。

そんな彼との出会いを作ってくれたのは、美しく凛々しいKさん。多くのモデルさんや芸能人の方々を撮影してきた、そんなシュウさんをもってして“芸能人かモデルかと思った”と言わしめたほど格好が良いのに、そんな事など全然気に懸けていない様子。もちろん、心の中も美しくって暖かいんです。

いつも一人でいるような気になっていましたが、本当はこんなにたくさんの人に囲まれているんだと改めて実感、そして大きな感謝をした一日。

明日から、またがんばろーっと。

Christmas Workshop (Candle Arrangement) - クリスマスワークショップから

クリスマス教室では、キャンドルアレンジだって作ってしまいます。これまでの一日教室で生まれた作品をご紹介したいと思います。

こちらは悠香子さんによる作品です。表情の違う常緑樹を丁寧に重ね合わした、美しいデザインです。アレンジの持つプロファイルも素晴らしいですよね。

This is Yukako’s design. Different types of evergreen were carefully layered and grouped so that the finished design would show its natural beauty. It is worth noting its beautiful profile.

江美さんによる、暖かみ溢れる作品です。.それぞれの飾りがしっかり見えるように工夫されていますね。

This is Emi’s design. A lovely warm colour scheme on a neatly created foliage base! Also, each decorative item was given maximum exposure to viewers by Emi.

千晶さんによるクリスマスのキャンドルアレンジです。自然素材をふんだんに使った飾りが大人っぽいです。コントラストを効かせたグリーンの使い方も素敵ですね。

Chiaki has created this design. With very selected decorative items – almost exclusively natural -, this is for grown-ups. The use of foliage really shine through this beautiful arrangement.

Christmas Workshop (Christmas Door Wreath) - クリスマスワークショップから２０１０

今年も開催予定のクリスマス教室。沢山の素敵な作品が毎年生まれています。昨年のクリスマス教室から、クリスマスリースの作品をご紹介させていただきます。
Here are some designs created at Christmas Special Workshops from last year.

悠香子さんによるデザインです。花時計のように、それぞれの箇所に見所を作られています。細かなところまで見入ってしまう凝った作品となっていますね。

Yukako has created this design. As if it was a flower clock, each segment of design has its own story. You just cannot help following each part of design one by one.

こちらの作品は文子さんによるもの。落ち着いた自然素材をバランスよく組み合わせて作られています。高級感が漂っていますね。

Ayako made this design. A rich combination of natural material was used here. It is a warm, quiet colour scheme – gorgeous!

洋子さんによるクリスマスリース。重厚感のある仕上がりとなっていますね。

This is Yoko’s design. Its neat workmanship is well translated into this rich look.

ノリコさんによるクリスマスリースです。所々に添えられたピンクが、アクセントとして効いていますね。

Noriko has created this design. Choice of Cherry Pink as an accent colour does work rather well here – it brought real character to this design!

こちらはめぐみさんによって作り出された作品です。鮮やかなオレンジと華やかなリボンが眼を引きつける、ナチュラル志向のデザインですね。

This design was created by Megumi. Bright orange and eye-catching ribbon really make this natural design stand out in dull winter weather.

London is becoming a feast of Christmas decoration. New Covent Garden Market is filled with beautiful decorations and flowers, too.

So, it is OUR turn to create this festive atmosphere: Christmas Wreath and Candle Arrangement Special Workshops! Have you been thinking of making your own decorations, but did not have chance to do it? Now, it is the time! You can create your own style and colour scheme. Of course, you will be able to make another one after the workshop for your friends and family, perhaps as a gift?

こちらは彩子さんの作られた大きなアレンジです。This is Saiko's special long arrangement.

Digital Camera Workshop - デジタルカメラ一日教室

カメラは持っていても、その使い方に今一自身のないあなた。デジタルカメラの機能を使いこなして、更にきれいな写真をとれるようになりませんか？

日本でプロとして活躍している写真家ジュンコさんが、ハムステッドでデジタルカメラの使い方一日教室を開催します。もちろん、普段持っている疑問にも答えていただけます。

photographer from Japan. She will tell and show you how to facilitate your
digital camera, and enable you to get MORE out of your camera.

From the previous Workshop - ワークショップからの作品，

先日のワークショップからの作品をご紹介させていただきます。やわらかな薫りを放つラベンダーとローズマリーを使ったフレームウェディングブーケの作製でした。ひっそりと咲いているのは，根っこを張っている小さな胡蝶蘭です。
I would like to share the beauty of the Wedding Bouquets made during the Workshop with you. Softly scented Lavandula angustifolia and fresh Rosmarinus officinalis are the ingredients of this frame work. Can you see this gorgeous small flowers in the frame? It is a rooted Phalaenopsis orchid.

まずは晃子さんの作品です。透明感の溢れる作品に仕上がりました。ロンドンの透明な光をしっかりとうけていますね。
This is from Akiko. It has such a transparent quality. The clear London light is traveling through her bouquet, and showing it beauty.








こちらは千春さんの作品です。植物の持つ力強さが表れていませんか？カラーの持つラインが印象的ですね。
This work is from Chiharu. There is a strong sense of affirmation in this design. It is Chiharu's ability to translate the power of material into a visible form.

From the July Workshop - ワークショップからの作品

先月のワークショップでは、吸水性フォームを使用しないアレンジメントの作製でした。花の情報をみんなで交換し合い、製作中にも話は盛り上がりましたが、作品を作るまなざしは変わらず真剣。もちろん作業の手が止まる事はありませんでした。
The theme for Workshop in July was "without any use of water retaining foam." We all exchanged techniques and information on flowers, so, naturally, we had some good chat during the workshop, although everyone was so concentrating on their own designs! In fact, they never stopped developing their idea and designs.


こちらはよしこさんの作品です。繊細さがありながらも，何か安定した風格のある作品に仕上がっていますね。
This is from Yoshiko. The design has such a delicate quality within, yet it shows boldness and stability through the material she chose.



裕季子さんの作品は、植物の持つ、『立ち上がる』表情をしっかりとらえています。
Yukiko's design is capturing the expression of materials 'being growing up' very well here. You can see them so alive!



晃子さんは、お皿の大きさにとらわれる事なく左右へと花をあしらい、アレンジに広がり感を持たせています。
Akiko made her arrangement without being restricted by the size of her own dish. The materials are swinging from side to side, so you can visualise the landscape beyond its outline.



こちらは美穂さんの作品です。細かな蕾も丁寧に使われて、まるで庭の一部を切り取ったかのような、雰囲気のある作品に仕上がりました。
This is Miho's work. With some small buds, she has created a very natural design here. It looks as if it was cut off from a beautiful summer garden.

Friday Workshop 27th July - ７月２７日金曜日のワークショップ

７月２７日のワークショップでは、吸水性フォームを使用しないアレンジメントを、皆さんがいつもお使いのお皿の上に制作します。デザインアイデアはお伝えしますが、基本的には形は自由。あなたらしい形を是非作り出してください。今回は，夏らしい風が吹き抜けるような，見た目にも涼しい作品になる予定です。創作意欲を刺激した作品を作っていきましょう。

必要なものはハサミといつもお使いのお皿、そして作品をお持ち帰り頂く袋だけです。お皿は、少し水がたまるようなものが良いです。大きさは自由です。適当なものがなければ，是非事前におっしゃってください。こちらで別途ご準備させていただきます。必要であればエプロンやランチもお持ちください。
見学ももちろん大歓迎です。是非ご連絡ください。

From a Wedding Workshop − ウェディング・ワークショップより

春のウェディング・ワークショップでは、枝を用いてのブーケ作りを取り上げました。このワークショップからの作品をいくつかご紹介します。吸水性フォーム等は一切使用せず、ナチュラルステムで束ねられています。
On our Spring Workshop, we created some Wedding Bouquets with twigs. Here are some gorgeous designs from this Workshop. There was no water retaining foam in these designs: they have been tied with natural stems!


まずはよしこさんの作品。中に手を通す、マフ・ブーケです。洗練された、その美しく静かな質感に目を奪われてしまいます。
Yoshiko's work is a Muff-style bouquet. How sophisticated! What a dazzling yet quiet texture!




こちらのクレッセント・ブーケは、裕季子さんの作品です。ナチュラルながら、エレガントなスタイルです。
This Crescent Bouquet is created by Yukiko. It has natural, yet very elegant style.







朋子さんは、カラーの流れを活かしたシャワー・ブーケを作製。甘さのない、大人の方にぴったりの作品ですね。
Tomoko has created this Shower style Bouquet, showing off the beauty of Zantedeschia. Nothing girlie here. This is for someone who knows own style.

The Workshop in June, Theme is "Wedding Bouquet" - ６月のワークショップは ”ウェディング・ブーケ”

６月のワークショップでは、ジューン・ブライドにちなんでウェディング・ブーケの作製を行ないたいと思います。いつものように吸水性フォームを使用しない、ナチュラルステムのブーケです。フレームを作り，夏の風が通るような軽やかなブーケを作ってみましょう。デザインアイデアはお伝えしますが、基本的には形は自由。あなたらしい形を是非作り出してください。今回も，しっかり編み込む作業が入っています。あなたも一緒に、創作意欲を刺激した作品を作っていきませんか？

以前のワークショップから、よしこさんの作品をお届けします。最初の作品は，チューリップの茎の流れを活かした春らしい作品です。Here are some designs created by Yoshiko at The Workshop. The first design is a very elegant Spring arrangement. Yoshiko really looked into the shape of Tulips in this arrangement.

この日よしこさんは、２作品を作り出してくださいました。こちらは、スノードロップをあしらった冬の静けさが伝わってくる作品ですね。
On this woorkshop, Yoshiko has created 2 designs on one day. this is her second design. With pretty Snowdrops (Galanthus elwesii), it is a very quet Winter landscape.
