Spring has arrived, so let's start! 春のタームのご案内です

　　　　　　春の日差しに満ちた、今日のロンドン。
吹く風も、今日は少し暖かく感じられます。 こうして新しい季節を迎え事ができ、素直に嬉しい４月です。
London is filled with sparkling Spring light today. Even breeze does not hit me as hard as it used to today... April is here, and I appreciate the arrival of a new season on a day like today.

ロンドンの花市場、ニューコベントガーデンでも、春が満開中。英国で育った花が沢山出回るようになって来ました！こうして春を運んでくれる花達。それがたったの一輪であっても、花のある生活は、心も気持ちも温かくしてくれますね。
New Covent Garden Market in London is also loaded with Spring blooms now. More and more British flowers are coming to the market as the Spring has arrives, and showing their fresh faces in the morning. There are so many flowers to choose from, but even just one bloom is enough to make me feel warm and contented: my addiction and morning fix.
 

こうた花達をアレンジとして飾り、春をお部屋に届けてあげませんか？一緒にアレンジを創って行く事で、あなたらしい花飾りの姿がきっと見えてくると思います。

本年・春のタームですが、来週４月９／１０日（水／木曜日）より、今までと同じ時間と場所での開始を予定しています。

Our weekly classes starts from 9th/10th April, at the same time and the same place as before. And the agendas for Advance Class would be as follows:

今回のターム、アドバンスクラスで創っていく課題は、次の５つです。課題作品の写真を貼付させていただきました。是非ご参考になさって下さい。

１）ホガース（S字）アレンジ / Hogarth-Shape Arrangement
William Hogarth さんが唱えたLine of Beauty - S字のラインをアレンジの中に取り入れたデザインです。ちょっとロココ調を感じさせる、フォーマルなデザインになります。茎の流れと花の向きをしっかり見つけて創っていきます。 
Line of Beauty by William Hogarth - that is what we try to achieve here: a bit of Rococo style, and quite formal as a design. Let's find beauty of shapes and lines in each flower and foliage.

こちらは敏美さんの作品です/This is Toshimi's design

２）ボウ（弓）型アレンジ/Bow-shape Design
アレンジの中心となる成長点（グロースポイント）から、左右に広がるデザインです。下へ向けて垂れ下がる動きを美しく描き出すように、花材の茎の部分を柔らかく矯めていきましょう。

This arrangement has a radiant shape from its growth point. We will have to get used to how to manipulate/bend each material to create this elegant line.

３）シャワー＝ハンドタイド/Shower style Hand-Tied
ウェディングブーケへの応用も可能な花束のデザインです。固くなり過ぎない、ふんわりとした作品作りを目指していきます。 
You would be able to apply the same design principle to a wedding BQ from here - this is assembled as a Hand-Tied. Let's make it soft and airy.

４）シャワー型アレンジ/Shower-style Arrangement
シャワー＝ハンドタイドで創ったスタイルを、アレンジメントとして吸水性スポンジに作り上げていきましょう。上から流れ出すラインなど、ボウ（弓）型と繋がる要素の多いスタイルですね。空間の取り方も大切な要素になります。
This one is on a floral foam, not a hand-Tied. There are some shared design elements with Bow-shape arrangement. We will see how Negative Space being used in this design.

 ５）基本のテーブルセンター＝アレンジ/Table Center Piece in Traditional style
とてもフォーマルなディナーの場面で活躍するデザインです。華やかな出来上がりになりますよ。お祝いの場面などでもお使いいただけるのではないでしょうか？
This is a perfect design for formal dinner settings.You will be amazed how this arrangement transform your dinner table into something even more elegant.

２０１４年・春のタームは、伝統的でフォーマルなデザインを中心に、“垂れ下がる姿”を練習をしていきましょう。花材の姿、流れをしっかり見つめる良い練習にもなると思います。是非、一緒に腕を上げていきましょう！

These agendas are formed around a traditional and rather formal style. It will be very useful sessions as we really have to OBSERVE each material. 

 
いっぽう、これまでクラスに足を向けていただくチャンスを逃していらした方には、基礎の基礎から一緒に始めて行きましょう。丸い形のラウンドアレンジ、三角形 の三方見のアレンジ、基本の花束の作り方、花瓶を使ったアレンジの作り方、そして基礎コースのまとめとなる三日月型のアレンジと進んでいきます。
花やアレンジにご興味をお持ちの方で、ちょっとクラスをのぞいてみたいという時には、ご遠慮なくご連絡下さい。一度見学においでいただき、そして、実際にお花に触れてみてください。花に触れる機会が今まで無かった方 も，もちろん大歓迎です。(こちらにご紹介させていただいた作品は、すべてクラスにおいで頂いている方によるデザインです。）

２０１４年は、ノッティングヒルでもお目にかかります！Notting Hill Class is going to start this year!

新しい一年がやってきました。

リビングシーズンズも、これまで皆さんに大切にして頂き、おかげさまで新しい一年を迎える事が出来ています。
まだまだ新米、駆け出しですので、学ぶ事が山積みですが、今まで通り、またそれ以上に腕を磨いて行きます。
今年も是非、リビングシーズンズを皆さんの傍においてやって下さい。

A brand-new year has arrived! Wishing you all good wishes and joy throughout this 2014 and beyond. And it would be so nice if you could come back to this page time and time again.
 

さて、新しい年を迎えるとともに、花のクラスでも少々新しいステップ。
新年のタームですが今月２９日（水曜日）からハムステッド、同じく今月３０日（木曜日）からノッティングヒルにてスタートの予定です。

これまでハムステドのクラスは毎週木曜日だったのですが、このタームより水曜日に変更とさせて頂きます。
ご都合が合わなくなってしまった方、本当にごめんなさい。
でも、その木曜日は、新しくノッティングヒルにてクラスを開かせて頂く予定です。
From this year, our weekly classes are having an extra date in Notting Hill - a small but special step forward for us. 
Now Hampstead class in on Wednesdays, resuming from 29th January. And, Notting Hill class is starting from 30th January. I do hope to see you either space sometime soon.

Classes will be starting from 10:30 on both locations. You can buy some foliage at Notting Hill Class just like we do in Hampstead(£3). So, please come and have a try on making your own arrangement.
 
ノッティングヒルのクラスでも、葉ものを購入いただけるようにご準備させて頂いております。（３ポンド）是非、気軽にクラスをのぞいてみて下さい。

今回のアドバンスの内容ですが、次の５課題を一緒に創って行きたいと思います。

１）ランドスケープアレンジ/ Landscape Arrangement

自然の景色や姿を、アレンジとして再構成．．．というと、とても固苦しいお題のようですが、そんな事はありません。自分の好きな景色を、それっぽく作ろうという事です。もちろん、見た目のバランスなんかに気をつけてなんですが。。。
The idea is to re-create a certain scene/landscape as a flower arrangement - it does not have to be complicated, just think about your favourite places. Yes, and, of course,  we will think about Visual Balance.

２）パラレル縦型/Parallel (Vertical) Design

植物の持つ伸び上がっていく茎の姿、天に向かって開いていく花の姿を、美しく表現していくのがこのアレンジ。空間の取り方も大切なポイントになります。

Let's show off the beauty of natural stems growing high up into the sky, flowers blooming facing to the light in this arrangement. Its success relies on how to create and keep Negative Space within a design, so let's use less material.

 ３）フラットハンドタイド/Flat-style Hand-Tied

花だけではなく、葉ものやそれ以外の素材を、パズルを組み合わせるようにしながら束ね上げていく花束を練習していきます。見た目のバランス感覚と、花束の表面に作り上げる微妙な高低差を身につけていきましょう。

Imagine when you assemble jigsaw puzzles - this time, we use not only flower material, but also foliage and some decorative items within a design. Let's create a good visual balance and subtle recession on this design.

 ４）パラレル横型/Parallel (Horizontal)

パラレル縦型と対をなすデザインです。目に見える花材はすべて水平の動きの中へと納めていきます。シンプルな形ですが、テーブルの上などでも注目を集めるデザインになります。
This is the other side of Parallel designs - all the visible material used in the design will be placed in horizontal manner. It is a simple design, but it is very effective, and people would ask you about it on your dinner table.

５）スパイラル/Spiral Design 

植物の持つ曲線の美しさを探し出し、活かして作っていくデザインです。とてもアーティスティックな作品になりますよ。

All we need to do is to find some beautiful line - arching, stream lines, spiralling...etc. within each flower/foliage material. Let's stimulate your artistic side!

This is Kanako's design こちらは佳奈子さんによる作品です

２０１４年のスタートを飾るこのタームは、“植物・自然の姿”をしっかり見つめる課題が充実しています。また、“花材を埋めない空間”を作り出していく良い練習にもなると思います。是非一緒に腕を上げていきましょう！
During this new term, there will be several opportunities to "find out" more about shapes and line flowers/nature could offer. Also, we'll have to employ a good use of "Negative Space", which enriches your design skill dramatically. 

花 やアレンジにご興味をお持ちの方、是非一度見学においでになってください。そして、実際にお花に触れてみてください。花に触れる機会が今まで無かった方 も，もちろん大歓迎です！(こちらにご紹介させていただいた作品は、すべてクラスにおいで頂いている方によるデザインです。）

From Christmas Workshop 2012 - 昨年のクリスマス教室より（クリスマス＝ドアリース編）

今年のクリスマス教室も開催が近づいてきました。前回に引き続き、昨年のクリスマス教室から、クリスマスドアリースの作品をご紹介させていただきます。
Here are some designs created at Christmas Special Workshops from last year.

こちらは恵美さんによるクリスマス＝ドアリースです。まず目を止めるのが、ドアリースの中から湧き出て来たような柳の枝の動き！選ばれた飾りも全体的に色のトーンを抑えめにされて、クールで静かなクリスマスを演出されていますね。
This is Emi's Christmas Door Wreath. It was this design feature which would easily please your eyes: Willow branches just as if they were its structure behind those foliage. With their great movement along the design, Emi has chosen muted decorations to enhance its cool and sophisticated design. Christmas for Grown-Ups, then?

こちらのドアリースは、智子さんによるデザインのものです。クリスマスには欠かせない常緑樹ですが、彼女の作品ではその美しさがとてもよく引き出されていますね。ベース作りをとても丁寧に（とても大変な作業なんです！）進められているからでしょうか、美しい形での完成となりましたね。
This Door Wreath was designed by Tomoko. As you would imagine, Ever-Green foliage is deeply associated with Christmas season, and Tomoko succeeded in showing off its beauty in colour, shades, texture and shape. Her hard work was well paid off - look at this design! A beautifully shaped design has arrived.

嘉子さんの手から創り出されたデザインがこちらです。ご自宅のドアにぴったりのデザインです。このように、自分の飾りたい場所のためにお創りいただけると、本当にピタッと決まります。わざと飛び出させた枝にパールを垂らす事で視線を長く移動させ、ドア全体のデコレーションの完成です。ちょっと妖しい雰囲気のある作品、カッコいいですね。
Yoshiko has created this design - wonderfully haute couture for her own front door. Obviously, Yoshiko had had a vision of how it would be displayed - and what a success! The additional twig which was holding a string of pearls was a cool feature - this is emphasised by the design of this door. A cool design infused with a bit of mysterious air...

こちらは葉子さんによる作品です。どっしりとした重厚感が、背景となっている教会の柱とぴったり。時間を掛けて丁寧に組まれたベースの葉ものが、とても美しく映えていますね。デコレーションの配置による“たわわ”な感じも、クリスマスの華やかさを感じさせてくれるデザインです。
This is Yoko's Door Wreath. With a backdrop of really heavy wide church pillar, Yoko's design was showing off its grandness effortlessly. Working and checking consistently on creating the right shape and profile of her Door Wreath base, the result was evident here. Richness of the festive season was well translated in to this design by its 'FULLNESS'. Superb.

こちらは敦子さんによる作品です。実は敦子さんには一昨年もご参加いただいます。その時と比べると、ベースの形が確実に安定していますね。デコレーションの配置も大きな変化が現れ、出来上がりがとても厚みのある立体的な作品となっています。これは、お客様の目を奪います！敦子さんの作品も、ドアにぴったりと決まっています。
This is Atsuko's design from last year. In fact, Atsuko did join the class the year before, too, to make her own Christ,as Door Wreath. It was evident that her craftsman skill was vastly improved this time - a beautifully created shape and profile of the base were clear evidence. Also, the way Atsuko decorated her design really enhanced its richness and depth - no wonder it wowed everyone who saw it. No need to mention that the design was a perfect match to her front door, too.

はなえさんによる作品がこちらです。クリスマスを飾る常緑樹。その緑が美しく映える、リッチで重厚なベースが完成しています。はなえさんはデコレーションをちりばめるのではなく、クラスター（グルーピング）にまとめられての展開です。選ばれた色目も、赤からオレンジ、暖かめのゴールドにされる事で、ベース部分との対照を更に強調。お部屋の中が、更に一段と（２段も３段も？）華やぎますね。
This is Hanae's Door Wreath design. Its base was patiently assembled with rich combination of variety of Ever-Green here. On this rich and well-made base, Hanae has arranged decorations in grouping manner, so that its visual impact would be clearer and bold. A clever choice of colour scheme, too: Green with rich red, orange and warm gold. A great addition for any room. 
 

明日香さんによる作品がこちらです。リボンをどのようにたなびかせるか、までしっかりと考えての作品作成となりました。触れてみたくなるような、葉の質感を活かしたドアリース。大きな作品ですが、雲のような見た目の柔らかさも兼ね備えています。（実際は、どっしりとしています）若々しさに満ちた、華やかな作品ですね。
This is Asuka's design. You never be able to guess how many times Asuka did try and see how this bow would look on her design during the workshop: and it was interesting to see how its look did change as Asuka changed bow's shape... Anyway, a visually inviting design with gorgeous visual texture. It is full of radiant, youthful energy coming out of it.

From the previous Christmas Workshop - 昨年のクリスマス一日教室より

今年も開催予定のクリスマス教室。一日教室を開催させて頂く度、それはそれは素敵な作品が生まれています。昨年のクリスマス教室から、アドベント＝キャンドルアレンジと、テーブルキャンドルアレンジの作品をご紹介させていただきます。
Here are some designs created at Christmas Special Workshops from last year.

こちらは貴恵さんによるデザインです。自然素材をメインに選ばれた作品。アイビーの実が季節感と華やかさをしっかりと演出しています。アドベント期間（4週間）の毎日曜日、火を灯すロウソク一本づつ増やしていきクリスマスの到来を待つ、という意味を持つアレンジです。あまり見かけられないかも分かりませんが、とても伝統的なアレンジ。細かなところまで見入ってしまう、とても立体的な凝った作品となっていますね。

Kie has created this Advent Candle design. Natural material was her predominant choice here - especially Ivy berries were the signs of season! Each week on  Sunday through Advent, an additional candle is lit - and wait for Christmas to come. Yes, it is not that far off now... Kie's design was very intricate and eye-catching one, indeed!

こちらの作品は友恵さんによるテーブルキャンドルアレンジです。ドイツからやって来たという人形とともに、クリスマスを華やかに演出されていますね。落ち着いた色目をもつ常緑樹（なぜ常緑樹なのか？この辺はクラスにてお話しさせて頂きますね）をたっぷりとお使いになり、重厚で落ち着きのある作品となっています。

Tomoe has designed this Table Candle Arrangement. This doll standing next to the arrangement apparently came all the way from Germany - what a great combination! Those muted colour ever green really made this design grand and luxurious. 

こちらの作品は桂子さんによるもの。華やかさがアレンジの中から広がり出してくるような、美しい作品。暖かな色でまとめられ、ロウソクに火の灯された時の姿も是非見てみたかった！ところで。。。あれ、ロウソクが他の作品と違う。。。。そうなんです、クラスではロウソクを２種類ご用意させて頂いています。（もちろん、両方ともお持ちかえりいただけます）クリスマスまでの期間に灯して頂くロウソクを１組、クリスマスの当日にお使いいただける１組です。今年も、昨年とはちょっと違うロウソクを準備してお待ちしています。

Keiko has made this Table Candle Arrangement. The beauty of this design is as if it were bursting with energy from within. Its warm colour scheme was so beautiful, that I was so keen to see how it looked when all the candles were lit up. Then, did you notice, this design has a different set of candles...Yes! You will have 2 sets of different type of candles- of course, you will take both sets back home with you. 1 set for leading up to Christmas, then a new set for Christmas Day. We sourced different style candles from last year - so, why don't you come and see them?

こちらの作品ははなえさんによるもの。リンゴの姿をしたキャンドルも、堂々と落ち着いてアレンジされています。彼女らしい個性が見えるのが、左側に添えられたアイビーの枝。まとめすぎる事なく、デザインの中に動きを持ち込むあたりに、彼女のこだわりを感じます。デザイン性の高い個性的な作品に仕上がっています。葉の組み合わせも美しくまとめられ、高級感が漂っていますね。

Hanae has made this design. Those Apple-shaped candles on the design were well positioned. Although this was a traditional design, Hanae has decided to put her own stamp on it - by bringing in an Ivy twig to her design. A quiet design with a twist, literally! A rich combination of different shades of ever-green was also its winning point - so gorgeous!

クリスマス教室へのお誘い Fancy making Your OWN Christmas decoration?

ハロウィーンを過ぎるころから、街灯の明かりがぐっと暖かく感じられます。なんて言ってみても、実はそれだけ厚着になってるだけなのですが。。。こうして、また新しい季節の到来。クリスマスなんてまだまだ。。。と思っていたのに、花市場の店頭には、クリスマスを彩る葉、枝、デコレーションが並んでいます。 
Once we go through Halloween, the streets starts filling up with beautiful leaves, and suddenly the street lamps look like they are giving out some warmth to the town... although, I know perfectly well that it is because I am JUST wearing some extra layers. Yes, a NEW SEASON is here in London. New Covent Garden Market is now fully equipped with some gorgeous foliage, twigs, glass and Christmas decoration.

New Leaf in TOKYO - 颯爽とした風が、ロンドンから東京へ

大切な同僚の一人が、この１１月から東京でテーブルコーディネートのクラスを始めるというニュースを聞きつけました！彼女は、ロンドンでもお花のアレンジを注文／お届けされていた実力者。それだけではなく、テーブルコーディネートとお花の教室も開かれていました。（知る人ぞ知る、人気のクラス！）

I have just heard a great NEWS! One of my dear colleagues is planning to resume her TABLE Co-Ordinating classes in TOKYO from November. We did not have a chance to share a work place in London, but I always admired her work - taking orders, delivering her creations here in London, as well as running ever so popular classes.

その教室へも数回お邪魔したのですが、そこに広がっていたのは溢れ出てくる知識と、光るような彼女の世界観。だからといってお高くとまってなんていません。沢山の質問が行き交い、笑い声と心遣いが来る人を包む教室。

それが、この度、東京で再開！

日本の方、ラッキーです！自分も、日本に戻った時には、是非行きたいなー。
早めに予約しなくっちゃね。

I actually have been to her class a few times to be nosy. Naturally, there was this deep understanding of table setting, soft furnishing, and flower designs. The great thing about her is that she is not a precious princess - she is so down to earth! Works hard, laughs out loud, yet never forgets to be grateful. 

Now, it is time for people in Japan to be able to experience it in first hand!
I must make a reservation for my seat when I go to Tokyo.

Vegetative Round ベジタティブアレンジを作って

こちらのデザインは恵さんによるものです。一輪一輪にそれぞれの ‘咲く場所’ が与えられ、まるで自然の景色を切り取ってきたような風情があります。立体感のある素敵な作品ですね。

Megumi has created this arrangement. Each flower was given its own “space to grow/bloom” in this design, and the whole arrangement just looked like a piece of field. A wonderfully well dimensioned design.

こちらは、裕季子さんの作品です。品種によっては、この季節にもう一度咲いてくれるバラがあります。そんな晩夏の庭を彷彿とさせる 、野性味溢れるデザインです。姫リンゴやぶどうの秋色に、薫り高いバラの色合わせも絶妙ですね。
This is Yukiko's design. Some varieties of Roses do bloom again around this time of the year, and this design really depicts its beauty: the end of summer, dry leaves with crisp air. Crab apples and some grape vine were accompanied by some highly scented roses. So wild!

敏美さんによるデザインはこちらです。可愛くなってしまいがちなピンク色。なかなか手強い色だと思うのですが、とても上品にまとめられていますね。色の持つ幅を利かせて、ぐっと落ち着きのある作品に仕上げられています。
Toshimi has created this design. The colour PINK can be quite intimidating - it somehow makes it look almost too cute... However, Toshimi effortlessly avoided falling in to that trap, and created an elegant colour combination. Pink for sophisticated table, I think.

No More Evening Classes for a tiem being - 夕方のクラスはしばらくお休みです

霧のロンドン。 

London was in deep fog.

明け方の静かな街が、その懐に包まれていました。

The dawn was approaching, yet this corner of the city was still so quiet, yet still deeply alive. 
 The street was simply enjoying this blanket.




夕方から開かせて頂いた、花の教室（ブルームスブリー）ですが、このタームよりお休みを頂く事になりました。
これまでお付き合いいただきました皆様。本当にありがとうございました。いつか、また開催出来るように、これから勉強を続けて行きます。

なお、朝のハムステッドクラスは、今まで通り開催させて頂いております。よろしかったら、是非、ハムステッドの朝のクラスへお越し下さいませ。

The evening class in Bloomsbury is taking a break from this term. The class had been run with full of support and encouragement from many of my friends and colleagues. Without them, simply the class did not have a chance of staying so long. So, thank YOU, and there are more than just these words. One day, maybe, we can gather again.
  
The morning classes in Hampstead is staying open as usual. So, if you are interested in making your own flower arrangement, please do come along to the morning classes!

秋のタームは９月２６日より Autumn Tem begins on 26th September

ちょっと前まで、半袖一枚でも大丈夫だったロンドン。
と、そこへ訪れた大雨長雨。気温も一気に下がりました。そんな街に現れたのは、コートにマフラーという出で立ちの通勤姿。夏の次は秋、だと思っていたのに、今年はどうも様子が違うのでしょうか。
そんなお天気をよそ目に、花市場ではハロウィーンに向けたディスプレーが増えてきました。もちろん、秋を華やかに彩ってくれる花や葉っぱ、そしてタワワな実物も充実。改めて、秋色の深さに目を奪われる市場の朝です。

It had been fine with only a T-shirt on for a while in London. then, this long, hard and slow rain arrived... The temperature fell dramatically with the wetness, which brought back long coats and scarves among commuters back in London. I thought Summer was supposed be followed by Autumn? Well, it feels different this year.

Despite this Wintery feel in the air, the Flower Market is gearing up to the time for Halloween now. There are so many bright colour under the roof - beautifully rich and subtly glorious Autumnal shades. You can ALMOST carry on wondering in the market for ever.

そんな季節を取り込むようなアレンジ。一緒に作って行きませんか？

Anyway, at LivingSeasons, the weekly classes is starting from 26th September 2013.

１）ヴェジタティブ（植生的な）ラウンドアレンジ/Vegetative Round Arrangement

自然な感じでアレンジを作りたい。。。という時に使えるデザインです。グルーピングを意識して作っていきます。こちらは、路子さんによる作品です。

When you feel like making a natural-looking design, this is very useful. You are going to use grouping technique here. This is Michiko's design.　　

２）ヴェジタティブ／アップライト/Vegetative Up-Right design

ラウンドアレンジを、縦型に応用したスタイルです。ちょっと和のたたずまいを感じさせてくれるのでは？

With the same principle as above, but apply it to an Up-Right shape here. Maybe you can see a bit of JAPANESE influence here...?

 こちらは佳奈子さんによる作品です。This is Kanako's design.

３）フロントフェーシングの花束/Front-Facing Hand-Tied

花束にも、実は色々なスタイルがありまして。。。今回のお題は、とても舞台映えのする花束です。

Hand-Tied design has several styles, indeed. This time, we are making Front-Facing one, which would be suitable for stage and presentation.

こちらは裕季子さんによる作品です。This is Yukiko's design.

４）フロントフェーシングの花瓶/Vase arrangement in Front-Facing style

花束同様、花瓶にも三方見のスタイルがあります。お家で飾るのに、使い勝手の良いスタイルだと思います。

Vase Arrangements has also several styles. This one would be quite useful for your own house/room.

５）コサージュ/Corsages

前タームで作ったのは、ワイヤーを見せてしまうモダンなスタイルのコサージュ。今タームでは、ワイヤーを見せない基本のコサージュです。

On the previous term, we made Modern Corsages, which you can see its mechanics. In this term, we are taking rather traditional way of making Corsages.

このタームでは、アレンジの技術を全体的に底上げしてくれる課題が充実しています。アドバンスのタームの中でも、基礎・基本的な内容ですので、しっかりと身に付けていければと思います。

On this Autumn Term, the agendas are here to push your general skills up. It would widen your design skill, too. They might look simple and basic, but they are useful, indeed.

いっ ぽう、これまでクラスに足を向けていただくチャンスを逃していらした方には、基礎の基礎から一緒に始めて行きましょう。丸い形のラウンドアレンジ、三角形 の三方見のアレンジ、基本の花束の作り方、花瓶を使ったアレンジの作り方、そして基礎コースのまとめとなる三日月型のアレンジと進んでいきます。

On Basic Class, the menu is Round, Front Facing, Hand-Tied, Vase arrangement and Crescent design. Let's create some beautiful designs with your own flowers.

花 やアレンジにご興味をお持ちの方、是非一度見学においでになってください。そして、実際にお花に触れてみてください。花に触れる機会が今まで無かった方 も，もちろん大歓迎です！(こちらにご紹介させていただいた作品は、すべてクラスにおいで頂いている方によるデザインです。）

やっと、やっと夏らしい日々が続くようになったロンドン！
Finally, The SUMMER has come to LONDON!

今年は半袖の出番が来ないんじゃあないのか。。。とか考えていましたが、待った甲斐があります。
I had started wondering whether if we could ever wear short-sleeve shirts this year or not... but, now, it really was worth waiting for.


もちろん、花市場も夏の花で埋もれています。夏と言えば、やっぱりこの花。
Naturally, the flower market is filled with abundance of summer flowers now. And, one familiar face among them is THIS.

ひまわりも一年中市場に出回る花の一つですが、やっぱりこの季節に見ることができるのも嬉しいです。花びらだけでなく、葉っぱだってパッキリみっちり。元気に開いています。

もちろん、デルフィニウムやコーンフラワー、青麦やラベンダーといった、夏らしさをかき立ててくれる花も市場に溢れています。

There are Delphiniums, Cornflowers, Wheats, Lavenders.... the scent of SUMMER is in the air at the market - but SUNFLOWER (Helianthus) really makes me think of the season. Nowadays, you find Sunflowers regardless to the season, but look at this beauty! Flower, petals, leaves and stems - all look so wholesome and happy.


さて、夏のタームは７月１８日（木曜日）より、今までと同じ時間と場所での開催を予定しています。このタームはやや短縮の８回です。（８月２２日と９月５日はお休みさせていただきます。ご了承下さいませ。）

The weekly classes at Living Seasons is starting its Summer term from 18th July, at the same place and same time. The only difference on this term is that we only have 8 sessions, instead of usual 10. (Also, there will be no class on 22nd August and 5th September) 

今回のターム、アドバンスクラスで作って行く課題は次の５つです。
アドバンスクラスでは、今までの内容に加え、新たにウェディング用ポージーブーケの作り方を練習していきたいと思います。課題作品の写真を一緒にご紹介させていただいています。是非ご参考になさってください。どの作品も、とっても素敵な仕上がりです！
On Advance Classes, we are making 5 different designs as follows: with new addition of Wedding Posy design. 

１）L型アレンジ（左右非対称＝エシンメトリカル）ー　エレガントかつダイナミックなスタイルです。こちらは恵さんの作品です。
1) L-Shape (Asymmetrical) Design - Elegant, yet very dynamic style. This design was created by Megumi. 

２）ファン（扇）型アレンジ　−　少ない本数でも、最大限のインパクトが得られるデザインです。こちらの作品は、彩子さんによるものです。
2) Fan-Shape Arrangement - the design will create maximum visual impact with relatively small number of flower material. One of the classic designs. This is Saiko's arrangement.
 

３）クロス＝オーバーラッピング　ー　花材がわざと交差してアレンジされる、緊張感のあるデザインです。こちらは恵子さんの作品です。

3) Cross-Overlapping Design - Each stem will be crossing over other stems within this design - this creates more visual tension here. Keiko has created this design.

４／１）モダン＝コサージュ（１週のみ）　ー　もう少し手軽にコサージュを楽しみたい方にお勧めです！翌週のポージーブーケとセットの内容です。こちらは恵子さんのお創りになったコサージュです。
4/1) Modern Corsage (1 week only) - Do yo think making a corsage would be too time-consuming? This might be an alternative for you. This class will be loosely set together with the following agenda. The design below is created by Keiko.
 

４／２）ポージー＝ブーケ（１週のみ）ー　今タームから登場の新しい課題です。ウェディングやギフトで活躍するデザインです。今タームでは、前課題のモダン＝コサージュとセットとなります。
4/2) - Posy Bouquet - This is a new agenda from this term. The design can be used on various occasions; of course, including weddings and gifts! 

 

このタームでは、インパクトの強いデザインが多くなります。植物の持つ可能性を見る目と、それを最大限に伸ばしてあげる技術を身につけていきましょう！

一方、これまでクラスにおいで頂くチャンスを逃していらしたあなた！

初めてクラスに参加をされる方には、丸いラウンドアレンジ、三角のフロントフェーシング、花束、花瓶を使ってのアレンジ、そして三日月型のクレッセントを一緒に作っていきましょう。

花やアレンジ作りにご興味をお持ちの方で、クラスをのぞいてみたいとお考えの方。いつでもご遠慮なくご連絡下さい。一度見学においで頂き、そして実際にお花に触れてみてください。今までアレンジを作った事がない方も、もちろん大歓迎です。（こちらにご紹介させていただいた作品は、全てクラスにおいで頂いている方の作品です）

From the Classes - Parallel Arrangement を作って（クラスの作品から）

恵子さんによる作品をご紹介します。ガーベラやチューリップなど、天に向かって素直に伸び上がる花材での作成。足下へあしらわれたハランの使い方も、見所の一つですね。
This is Keiko's arrangement. The flowers used here had beautiful stem line, shooting out from the ground and trying to reach the sky... It is another point to take note what a  clever way of using Aspidistra at the base of the design.






こちらも恵子さんによるアレンジ。前作とは趣を変え、細かく弾けるように咲く花々を使っての作品です。それぞれの花材に与えられた空間ですが、単調にならないように気を配って作られているのが分かりますね。ベース部分の構成も含めて、とても見応えのある作品になっています。
 This is also from Keiko. Even though the design style was the same as the previous one, Keiko created a design with completely different feel to it. With rather small blooms, each material was given good negative space - and it was not monotonous at all. It really is a beautiful design.

こちらは由未さんの作品。立ち姿の美しいアイリス。その美しさを遺憾なく発揮出来るのも、このアレンジスタイルの魅力ではないでしょうか？使われた花の数はそれほど多くないのですが、空間構成に隙はありませんね。
Yumi has created this design. Iris has such a beautiful profile, with its curving stem... This design style can really enhance this side of beauty in flowers, I think. And, of course, Yumi has done it so rightly. Not that many flowers being used, but there was no sense of lacking anything here.

こちらは麻世さんの作品です。前３作とは異なる、横へ流れるパラレルデザインです。デザインの特性を生かす花材選びがなされていますね。オレンジ色のガーベラが効いています。

This design was created by Mayo, who chose these material to enhance the design concept: it is different from the previous 3 arrangements. This one is, as you can see, a HORIZONTAL style. Orange Gerberas in this design brought good visual impact to this design.

From the classes - Front Facing - フロントフェイシング＝アレンジメントを作って

こちらは百合さんの作品です。まるで、太陽のような強い輝きを感じますよね。葉ものを様々に組み合わせる事で、アレンジにいっそう動きが出ています。

This is Yuri's arrangement. Look at the variety of foliage in this design! They created beautiful movement in the design - it is like a Sun blasting out bright light. Such an eye-catching arrangement.

こちらも百合さんによる作品です。とても個性的な花の組み合わせではないでしょうか？テクスチャーの面白さに、見る人の目が注がれます。
This is also Yuri's design. It has very interesting combination of materials and unique STYLE with mixing them, which really attracts anyone's attention to this design. What do you think?









こちらは岸子さんによるデザインです。ジンジャーの花の持っている表情が活かされたアレンジですね。植物の持つ力強さ、そして伸び上がる命を、感じさせてくれませんか？
Kishiko has created this design. Ginger has such an intriguing facial expression, and Kishiko has captured them really well here. Can you feel the strength each material holds within? And, can you see the power of growing up from this design?






こちらは美穂さんによる作品です。夏の一日を癒してくれるような、優しさが伝わってくるアレンジメントですね。いつもとはちょっと違う、ちょっと優しげなひまわりの表情が素敵です。
This is Miho's arrangement. After a long hot Summer day, you would be so happy to see this design waiting for you at home... as if giving a fresh cool shower to your exhausted soul. Miho has shown another side of those Helianthus (Sunflowers) - gentle and light.

岸子さんによるアレンジです。色の対比が美しく、見る人の目を引きつけてくれます。夏の風を運んでくるような、いまの季節にぴったりの作品です。
Kishiko has created this airy design. It demands attention to be seen in a gentle manner with its beautiful colour contrast. Isn't it a perfect arrangement for the season - it almost makes you feel a nice breexe from afar field.  

こちらは由未さんによるアレンジメントです。アレンジの軸となる成長点。特にこの作品では、この点がしっかりつくり出されているのがよくわかりますね。広がりとともに安定感を感じさせてくれる作品です。

This is Yumi's arrangement. We all know about Growth Point when you make arrangements. You can almost pin-point it in this design. Each material has spread its line beautifully here, yet, the whole design looks so visually stable.

こちらも、由未さんによる作品です。柔らかな素材を丁寧にアレンジされていらっしゃいます。そよ風を感じるような作品ですね。
Yumi also created this design. The material being used here are generally very gentle and fine sorts. Can you feel a gentle breeze coming from it?
