クリスマス一日教室のご案内 - Christmas Workshops 2012

クリスマスまでまだまだ。。。と思っていたら、店頭にたくさんのクリスマスカードが並べられていました。そう言えば、クリスマスならではの葉ものが、先日も花市場にも並んでいたっけ。。。

今年も昨年同様、クリスマスリースやキャンドルアレンジメントの制作を体験できる教室を開催させていただきます。これまで作ってみたかったけど、なかなか機会がなかった方には是非参加していただきたい教室です。自分で作る自分のためだけのクリスマスリースやキャンドルアレンジです。今年は、アドヴェントに向けたキャンドルアレンジを創る一日教室も開催させていただく予定です。
It seems that Christmas is still long way to come, but I noticed a huge pile of Christmas Cards are for sale on some shops' front, already! It is NOT far when London becomes a feast of Christmas decoration soon. New Covent Garden Market is going to be filled with beautiful decorations and flowers, too.

So, it is OUR turn to create this festive atmosphere: Christmas Wreath and Candle Arrangement Special Workshops! Have you been thinking of making your own decorations, but did not have chance to do it? Now, it is the time! You can create your own style and colour scheme. Of course, you will be able to make another one after the workshop for your friends and family, perhaps as a gift?

Christmas Workshop (Candle Arrangement) - クリスマスワークショップから

クリスマス教室では、キャンドルアレンジだって作ってしまいます。これまでの一日教室で生まれた作品をご紹介したいと思います。

こちらは悠香子さんによる作品です。表情の違う常緑樹を丁寧に重ね合わした、美しいデザインです。アレンジの持つプロファイルも素晴らしいですよね。

This is Yukako’s design. Different types of evergreen were carefully layered and grouped so that the finished design would show its natural beauty. It is worth noting its beautiful profile.

江美さんによる、暖かみ溢れる作品です。.それぞれの飾りがしっかり見えるように工夫されていますね。

This is Emi’s design. A lovely warm colour scheme on a neatly created foliage base! Also, each decorative item was given maximum exposure to viewers by Emi.

千晶さんによるクリスマスのキャンドルアレンジです。自然素材をふんだんに使った飾りが大人っぽいです。コントラストを効かせたグリーンの使い方も素敵ですね。

Chiaki has created this design. With very selected decorative items – almost exclusively natural -, this is for grown-ups. The use of foliage really shine through this beautiful arrangement.

Christmas Workshop (Christmas Door Wreath) - クリスマスワークショップから２０１０

今年も開催予定のクリスマス教室。沢山の素敵な作品が毎年生まれています。昨年のクリスマス教室から、クリスマスリースの作品をご紹介させていただきます。
Here are some designs created at Christmas Special Workshops from last year.

悠香子さんによるデザインです。花時計のように、それぞれの箇所に見所を作られています。細かなところまで見入ってしまう凝った作品となっていますね。

Yukako has created this design. As if it was a flower clock, each segment of design has its own story. You just cannot help following each part of design one by one.

こちらの作品は文子さんによるもの。落ち着いた自然素材をバランスよく組み合わせて作られています。高級感が漂っていますね。

Ayako made this design. A rich combination of natural material was used here. It is a warm, quiet colour scheme – gorgeous!

洋子さんによるクリスマスリース。重厚感のある仕上がりとなっていますね。

This is Yoko’s design. Its neat workmanship is well translated into this rich look.

ノリコさんによるクリスマスリースです。所々に添えられたピンクが、アクセントとして効いていますね。

Noriko has created this design. Choice of Cherry Pink as an accent colour does work rather well here – it brought real character to this design!

こちらはめぐみさんによって作り出された作品です。鮮やかなオレンジと華やかなリボンが眼を引きつける、ナチュラル志向のデザインですね。

This design was created by Megumi. Bright orange and eye-catching ribbon really make this natural design stand out in dull winter weather.

We are planning to have some Christmas Workshops again this year from the end of November - just in time for the Advent. The detail will be found here on later date.

Autumn Term starts on 27th September - ９月２７日より秋のターム開始

９月の声を聞いたとたん、秋の匂いが漂い始めたロンドンです。青々と茂っていた街路樹も、少しずつ次の季節を迎える準備に入っている模様。やはり、夜が長くなってきている証拠なのでしょうか。

市場にも、ススキやホオズキが顔を見せ始めています。

“ロンドンにもススキがあるのかー”、と日本の夕暮れを思い出してしまいました。

Once a new page of calenders was turned, the air in London has changed: The scent of Autumn is very distinctive to me. Naturally, the street trees are changing their appearances. Nights are getting longer, so trees are preparing for the new season. 

This new season has brought some new faces to the flower market - Miscanthus, Physalis... they always remind me of that glorious Autumn dusk in my home town in Japan.

早いもので、２０１２年まとめのタームが迫ってきました。クリスマスそして新しい年まで、まだまだ時間があると思っていたのですが。。。自分らしい、好きな花でクリスマスや新しい年を迎えていきたいとお考えの方、クラスにおいでになりませんか？

秋のタームは９月２７日よりスタートです。

Anyway, at LivingSeasons, a new term is about to start, and this will be the last term for 2012. Christmas and the New Year seems long time away, but, in fact, they are not. But, we still have enough time to prepare for those special days. It would be wonderful if those days are decorated with your own flowers? 

The weekly classes is starting from 27th September 2012. Time and premises are the same as usual.

１）ランドスケープアレンジ/ Landscape Arrangement

自然の景色や姿を、アレンジとして再構成．．．というと、とても固苦しいお題のようですが、そんな事はありません。自分の好きな景色を、それっぽく作ろうという事です。もちろん、見た目のバランスなんかに気をつけてなんですが。。。

こちらはナターシャさんの作品です。

The idea is to re-create a certain scene/landscape as a flower arrangement - it does not have to be complicated, just think about your favourite places. Yes, and, of course,  we will think about Visual Balance.This is Natascha's design.

２）パラレル縦型/Parallel (Vertical) Design

植物の持つ伸び上がっていく茎の姿、天に向かって開いていく花の姿を、美しく表現していくのがこのアレンジ。空間の取り方も大切なポイントになります。

こちらは恵子さんによる作品です。

Let's show off the beauty of stems growing up to the sky, flowers opening up to the light in this arrangement. How to create and keep Negative Space in a design would be also an important design element to apply here.

３）フラットハンドタイド/Flat-style Hand-Tied

花だけではなく、葉ものやそれ以外の素材を、パズルを組み合わせるようにしながら束ね上げていく花束を練習していきます。見た目のバランス感覚と、花束の表面に作り上げる微妙な高低差を身につけていきましょう。

こちらは桂子さんの作品です。

Imagine when you assemble jigsaw puzzles - buy here, each piece is not only flowers, but also each foliage and some decorative items. Let's create a good visual balance and subtle recession on this design.

４）パラレル横型/Parallel (Horizontal)

パラレル縦型と対をなすデザインです。目に見える花材はすべて水平の動きの中へと納めていきます。シンプルな形ですが、テーブルの上などでも注目を集めるデザインになります。こちらは美紀さんの作品です。

This is another side of Parallel designs - all the visible material used in the design will be placed in horizontal manner. It is a simple design, but it DOES look attractive and people would ask you about it on your dinner table.

５）スパイラル/Spiral Design 

植物の持つ曲線の美しさを探し出し、活かして作っていくデザインです。とてもアーティスティックな作品になりますよ。

こちらはひろみさんの作品です。

All we need to do is to find some beautiful line - arching, stream lines, spiralling...etc. within each flower/foliage material.Let's stimulate your artistic side!

２０１２年まとめのタームは、“植物・自然の姿”をしっかり見つめる課題が充実しています。また、“花材を埋めない空間”を作り出していく良い練習にもなると思います。是非一緒に腕を上げていきましょう！
During this new term, there will be several opportunities to "find out" more about shapes and line flowers/nature have. Also, we'll have to employ a good use of "Negative Space", which enriches your design skill dramatically. 

いっぽう、これまでクラスに足を向けていただくチャンスを逃していらした方には、基礎の基礎から一緒に始めて行きましょう。丸い形のラウンドアレンジ、三角形 の三方見のアレンジ、基本の花束の作り方、花瓶を使ったアレンジの作り方、そして基礎コースのまとめとなる三日月型のアレンジと進んでいきます。

On Basic Class, the agenda is Round, Front Facing, Hand-Tied, Vase arrangement and Crescent design. Let's create some beautiful designs with your own flowers.

季節の花で、思い通りのアレンジが出来るように。。。クラスでお会い出来るのを楽しみにしています。

Roses in gardens are almost finishing, but there are more to Summer flowers! Seasonal flowers are always more reasonable and last longer. With those wonderful seasonal flowers, you can make your room HOME.

夏のクラスは７月１２日からスタート - The Summer term starts on 12th July 2012!

梅雨を思わせるような雲が低く広がるロンドンです。そんな７月をいかがお過ごしでしょうか？ウィンブルドンのテニスも、ハンプトンコートでのフラワーショーも終了しまして、後は、オリンピック・パラリンピックへと盛り上がっていくのでしょうか？

With low heavy clouds, it does not look like SUMMER at all in London... How have you been? Wimbledon is over, Hampton Court Flower show has gone now, and now we are waiting for the Olympic/Paralympic to arrive.

今週の木曜日(７月１２日）から、新しいタームが始まります。

Anyway, at LivingSeasons, the weekly classes is starting from 12th Jule 2012. Time and premises are the same as always.

１）ヴェジタティブ（植生的な）ラウンドアレンジ

        Vegetative Round Arrangement

自然な感じでアレンジを作りたい。。。という時に使えるデザインです。グルーピングを意識して作っていきます。こちらは、路子さんによる作品です。

When you feel like making a natural-looking design, this is very useful. You are going to use grouping technique here. This is Michiko's design.　　

２）ヴェジタティブ／アップライト

        Vegetative Up-Right design

ラウンドアレンジを、縦型に応用したスタイルです。ちょっと和のたたずまいを感じさせてくれるのでは？

With the same principle as above, but apply it to an Up-Right shape here. Maybe you can see a bit of JAPANESE influence here...?

こちらは佳奈子さんによる作品です。This is Kanako's design.

３）フロントフェーシングの花束

        Front-Facing Hand-Tied

花束にも、実は色々なスタイルがありまして。。。今回のお題は、とても舞台映えのする花束です。

Hand-Tied design has several styles, indeed. This time, we are making Front-Facing one, which would be suitable for stage and presentation.

こちらは恵さんによる作品です。This is Megumi's design.

４）フロントフェーシングの花瓶

        Vase arrangement in Front-Facing style

花束同様、花瓶にも三方見のスタイルがあります。お家で飾るのに、使い勝手の良いスタイルだと思います。

Vase Arrangements has also several styles. This one would be quite useful for your own house/room.

５）コサージュ

        Corsages

前タームで作ったのは、ワイヤーを見せてしまうモダンなスタイルのコサージュ。今タームでは、ワイヤーを見せない基本のコサージュです。

On the previous term, we made Modern Corsages, which you can see its mechanics. In this term, we are taking rather traditional way of making Corsages.

この夏のタームでは、アレンジの技術を全体的に底上げしてくれる課題が充実しています。アドバンスのタームの中でも、基礎・基本的な内容ですので、しっかりと身に付けていければと思います。

On this Summer Term, the agendas are here to push your general skills up. It would widen your design skill, too. They might look simple and basic, but they are useful, indeed.

いっぽう、これまでクラスに足を向けていただくチャンスを逃していらした方には、基礎の基礎から一緒に始めて行きましょう。丸い形のラウンドアレンジ、三角形 の三方見のアレンジ、基本の花束の作り方、花瓶を使ったアレンジの作り方、そして基礎コースのまとめとなる三日月型のアレンジと進んでいきます。

イギリスを象徴するようなバラ。その季節はそろそろ終盤を迎えるのですが、夏を盛りとする花はまだまだ沢山あります。庭だけでなく花市場やスーパーの店先で も、旬の、しかも国内産の花が沢山出回っています。ちょっとお値打ちで、そのうえ花持ちもちょっと長いように感じます。
